Tele Sync
Tele Sync is a network of interactive portals, physical screens placed inside venues, each one connected to the others in real time. Not passive displays. Not advertising. Something stranger and more alive than that.
Standing in front of a portal, the system sees you. Your face, your hands, your movement all of it is read in real time and used to drive the visuals directly. The portal responds to your presence. And then it connects you: paired with someone at a different location across the city, a stranger on the other side of a screen that suddenly feels much less like a screen.
The portals operate across four modes;
Promo
Interactive
Telepresence
Broadcast
Moving between discovering upcoming shows, hosting solo interactive artworks, connecting people across locations in real time, and streaming live performances beyond the venue walls. The platform has a distinct artistic identity and a growing body of original commissioned work, made specifically for the portal format rather than adapted to it.
Chapter 1 launched across six sites in Liverpool over four weeks, with four units now permanently installed. 3,700 unique visitors. Over 1,000 pairings. An average interaction time of 60 seconds unusually long for a public-facing installation, and a strong signal that people are genuinely stopping, engaging and finding something worth their attention.
The project began with support from CoStar Network and Music Futures, with a focus on how technology can help grassroots music venues reach new audiences and connect isolated spaces to the wider city. That context shaped the first chapter, but the platform is built to go further. The portals can live anywhere people actually are: festivals, galleries, hospitals, shopping centres, public buildings. Chapter 2 is already in development, with new artist commissions, expanded locations, full audio across the network and a live broadcast mode for performances.
If you'd like to host a portal, commission a work, or talk about what this could look like in your space — get in touch.
